Welcome to Green Meadows Golf Course
Green Meadow Golf Club is a course that you will enjoy coming back to play. We have a friendly and courteous staff from start to finish. The course is very well manicured and the layout is challenging with two creeks strategically running thru both the front and back nines. It is a course that will offer a variety of shots that require just about every club in your bag, but you’ll find it’s a friendly course. Upon completion of your round, the clubhouse has a great atmosphere to relax and have a beverage and bite to eat.
We offer a full membership which includes a tournament package, shootout, and club championship. We also offer a senior and a junior membership package at a reduced rate, not including all the above amenities.
We will do a great job of handling your golf outing, whether it’s a large fund- raiser or smaller group looking for an afternoon of fun.
We offer weekday league packages for organized groups with minimum requirements.
And of course we are open to the public 7 days a week taking t-times either by phone or on line.
Green Meadows has been our family business for over 40 years and we pride ourselves with perfection, inside and out. We’re known for our friendly atmosphere and for treating our customers like family. We look forward in seeing you in the future!
Monroe Golf at its Finest
The amenities are great, but the real star of the show at Green Meadows Golf Course is the high quality of the course layout. Our course is very well manicured and the full round is quite challenging, with two creeks strategically running through both the front and back nines. Green Meadows Golf Course offers a variety of shots that will have you reaching for every club in your bag. And while it can be challenging at times, you'll find that our picturesque landscapes are quite friendly. From the back tees play at Green Meadows spans 6,391 yards for a par of 70 and a slope of 116.
Finally, don't forget to set aside some time to stop in the clubhouse and say hello. We can't wait to meet you!
|Helen and Marion "Spitz" Eipperle|
Green Meadows Golf Course opened Memorial weekend in 1973. Marion "Spitz" Eipperle and his wife Helen started turning a portion of their farm land into a golf course back in late 1971. Local farmers thought he was "crazy" when he started building greens in the middle of a corn field. Being determined, Spitz never slowed down on his project, completing it the fall of 1972.
The course was designed by a friend, Harley Hodges, who at the time built, owned, and operated Whiteford Valley Golf Course. He gave Spitz many tips on owning and operating a golf course, which we still use today.
Thru the 70's and 80's Green Meadows attracted new leagues, outings, members, and high school teams. It took off faster than expected, so an addition on the clubhouse and a parking lot across the road was added, to accommodate the growing business.
Over the past 30+ years we have been the home of both the Ida High and Monroe High boy's golf teams.
Much of the success that Green Meadows has seen over the years is due to the family values and work ethics that Spitz and Helen have passed onto their children Kay, Tom, and Debra, along with son-in-laws Dale and Doug. All are involved with the business today, including the grandchildren, who too are a vital part of today's business. Not only did they pass these values and ethics onto their children and grandchildren, but also their employees.
After the turn of the century more golf courses have popped up in Monroe County, creating many choices to play. We still strive to be a leader of value and service in the golf business and will continue to improve course conditions and characteristics, clubhouse amenities, and price packaging, to better serve our customers.
